STAMPSCAPES CLASS MAY 20, 2012

STAMPAWAY WEEK AT MARCO'S PAPER JUST GOT A NEW TEACHER

I am so happy to announce I will be teaching a Stampscapes class at Marco's Papers in Centerville, Ohio July 31, 2012 during Stampaway week.  Marco's Paper is about 35 miles north of Sharonville (which is right outside of Cincinnati) where the Stampaway USA convention is being held.   Last year I wrote a post Stampaway blog in which I made the comment that I would like to teach at Stampaway.  Well this is even better because Marco's is one of my favorite stores, and I am so honored to have this opportunity to teach a class during their Stampaway celebration.   In fact I will be kicking off Stampaway week for Marco's.  If we fill up one class I may be teaching a second one on the same day.  Please contact Marco's Paper if you are interested in taking this class.  Help me fill two classes and make this event a great success.

CARDS WITH A VIEW April 22, 2012 Class

This class was inspired by my students requests for window cards and a waterfall card so I have tried to deliver a variety which we will be doing April 22, 2012 at the Stables Community Center in Sevierville, TN.  I have used Spellbinders dies, Heartfelt Creations stamps, Art Gone Wild stamps and template and To Much Fun Rubber Stamps window stamp.  I am still working on the 4th card which will also be a window card.

STAMPAWAY LOGO FOR 2012

 I just saw the 2012 Stampaway logo and I am a little disappointed in the design.  I was hoping for more creativity.  I do like the colors they chose, but I like to base my trade design on the logo every year and this one has me really scratching my head.  If any of you have any ideas on what you would do in the way of a artist trading card please leave a comment.  I like the idea of a giant rubber stamp and a play on there 20th year.  I do have a stamp with the skyline of Cincinnati on it that I purchased from DP Artworks and those are the only ideas I have at the moment.  I really would like to hear your feedback.

Stampaway is a great convention held in Cincinnati, Ohio every year.  The dates this year are Aug. 3 for the preview party and Aug. 4 for the open convention.  You can get more info about the convention by visiting there website http://www.stampawayusa.com.  I am from Cincinnati so it gives me a chance to go home and visit family, get new ideas for my classes and the store where I work.


 

FEB. 19, 2012 CLASS COFFEE AND TEA THEME

I have been very busy working on my class which will be next Sunday again this month at the Lion of Judah Martial Arts School in Seymour, TN.  I would like to thank the school for working with me so I did not have to cancel my Jan. and Feb. classes.

The cards are coffee and tea theme done in a collage style.  I have had several requests to repeat a collage class so here it is with a twist .

STAMPSCAPES CLASS JAN. 29 2012

Due to the remolding of the Community Center at the Stables my class has been moved to the Lion of Judah Martial Arts center at 114 Peacock Ct. The above card is one of the cards we are doing.  The theme of this class is water and winter.  The stamps used in this scene are as follows: Pine Tree 196F, Pine Tree Row 150E, Buck Large 009B, Fence 289D, Leafless Limb 053F, Cloud Bits 292C, Sedge Filler 251C, Tall Grass 254B.  I used gray, and blue dye base inks to color this card using the Color Box stylus.  Final touches were added with a white gel pen.
